ASEAN Hydroinformatics Center (AHC) Project was approved as ASEAN COST new project
ASEAN Committee on Science and Technology (ASEAN COST) recently approved 3 new projects proposed by Thailand on 24 May 2017 during its 72nd COST meeting held at Brunei Darussalam. One of the three approved project is “ASEAN Hydroinformatics Center (AHC) Project”, proposed by Hydro and Agro Informatics Institute (Public Organization) or HAII, Ministry of Science and Technology, Thailand. The ASEAN-COST meeting was held twice a year to follow up, monitor, and present the new initiative regarding ASEAN Plan of Action on Science, Technology and Innovation (APASTI) to ASEAN committees and sub-committees.
SCMIT meeting
The AHC project was supported by Sub-Committee on Microelectronics Information Technology (SCMIT) at the 46th SCMIT Meeting on 22nd May 2017 and was approved by the 72nd ASEAN-COST meeting. HAII will be the main agency to responsible for the overall project and annually report the progress to SCMIT meeting through National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (SCMIT), Thailand’s focal point.

ASEAN COST meeting
The ASEAN Hydroinformatics Center (AHC) project is the good practices-driven initiation to enrich the significant of Information Technology (IT) tools to integrate data from various sources related to water, S&T, and disaster dimensions within ASEAN region. At the end, AHC will benefit over 625 million of ASEAN people and ensure sustainability by building data platform for greater mitigation and solution regarding disaster and its risk including regional, national, and local level of ASEAN member countries.
