The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), through the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Water Resources, continues to develop various infrastructures in the field of water resources to support the creation of water and food security in Indonesia.
The main infrastructure development programs in the water resources field in 2022 include the continued construction of 32 dams, the construction of 47,119 hectares of irrigation areas, rehabilitation of 153,333 hectares of irrigation networks, construction of 28 reservoirs, provision of 3.48 cubic meters per second of raw water.
Nine of the 32 dams being developed by the government will be completed in 2022, the director general of water resources at the Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry, Jarot Widyoko, has informed.
The dams that will be completed in 2022 include the Ciawi, Sukamahi, and Sadawarna dams (West Java province) and the Semantok Dam. In addition, work on Margatiga Dam, Lolak Dam, Kuwil Kawangkoan Dam, Tamblang Dam, and Banyan Sila Dam is almost complete.
